Zimbabwe project welcomes ex-prisoners

From the article from the United Methodist Church News: Denford Muliliwana, a 33-year-old man released from jail after serving a six-year sentence, walked in. He wore rumpled, dark-green trousers and a white shirt with the top button undone. The eyes of the congregation were glued on him as it murmured the song of a returning prodigal son.

El voluntariado de Suazilandia está reuniendo a víctimas y victimarios

Recientemente Dennis Shongwe respondió a un caso de robo simple en su comunidad mediante el acercarse tanto a la victima como al victimario para preguntarles si querían participar en una conferencia de restauración. Al hacerlo así, el activo voluntario de la C. C. de Suazilandia decidió poner en práctica algunos de los conceptos que aprendió en el curso del Diploma Internacional de Justicia Restaurativa impartido en julio del 2011.

Haciendo Conciencia en la Comunidad sobre la Justicia Restaurativa

Recientemente, Uvenama Rova de la C. C. de Papua Nueva Guinea dio una presentación sobre justicia restaurativa en un Taller de la Confraternidad de Mujeres de la Iglesia Unida de Papua Nueva Guinea.

La CC de Suazilandia Auspició un Seminario de Justicia Restaurativa

En Diciembre del 2005, la CC de Suazilandia patrocinó un seminario de justicia restaurativa a elementos clave del sistema de justicia. El seminario de un día presentó ponentes de la CCI, la CC de Suazilandia, la CC de Lesotho y de otras organizaciones de Suazilandia.

Trabajando por la Paz en Colombia

Recientemente Lácides Hernández miembro del Consejo Directivo de CC Colombia, participó en una reunión entre representantes del gobierno colombiano y el grupo guerrillero Ejército de Liberación Nacional (ELN) en la Habana, Cuba. El propósito de esta reunión era desarrollar una agenda para el proceso de paz.

Avances y Desarrollos en materia de Reconciliación en Bolivia

A comienzos de éste año, la división Oruro de la CC Bolivia abrió el Centro de Conciliación Charles Colson. Habiendo recibido reconocimiento oficial por el Ministerio de Justicia, el Centro tiene cinco conciliadores certificados, proporcionando servicios alternos para la solución de conflictos en pleitos civiles, familiares y penales.

Promoviendo Alternativas en Suazilandia

A principios de marzo de 2006, la CC Suazilandia en sociedad con la Asociación de Suazilandia para la Prevención de Delincuentes patrocinaron un seminario sobre alternativas sin encarcelamiento con particular énfasis en servicios comunitarios. El seminario titulado Regreso a un Sistema de Justicia Penal más Restaurativo, continúo la inercia para explorar alternativas que se produjo en un seminario de justicia restaurativa llevado a cabo en diciembre de 2005.

Preparando Facilitadores y Mediadores en Zambia

A finales de mayo, la C C de Zambia proporcionó capacitación sobre justica restaurativa a 34 voluntarios de ocho grupos de cuidados alrededor del país. Esto incluyó una vista general de la teoría de la justicia restaurativa, práctica de mediación, y el Proyecto Árbol de Sicomoro® (STP). Las metas de la capacitación incluyeron el formar la capacidad para la implementación de STP y los servicios de mediación a lo largo del país.

Promoviendo la Justicia Restaurativa en Costa Rica

Por el año 2009 la C C de Costa Rica entró en sociedad con la Comisión Nacional para el Mejoramiento de la Administración de Justicia para promover la justicia restaurativa a varios niveles de la sociedad costarricense. Como parte de este empeño, el ministerio nacional organizó a mediados de junio, una serie de eventos públicos relacionados con el tema.

La C C de Singapur Explora la Justicia Restaurativa

El 30 de mayo, la C C de Singapur patrocinó una sesión de capacitación de medio día sobre la teoría detrás de la justicia restaurativa y sus programas. El propósito de la sesión era impulsar a directivos y consejeros, así como a voluntarios, a considerar como la teoría de la justicia restaurativa podría remodelar el actual acercamiento a los prisioneros, ex-prisioneros y sus familias.

La C C de Malasia Realiza un Simposio de Dos Días sobre Justicia Restaurativa para Funcionarios Públicos y Otras Personas

La C C de Malasia realiza un Simposio de Dos Días sobre justicia restaurativa el 1 y 2 de junio. De las 70 a 80 personas que asistieron, aproximadamente la mitad fueron del servicio carcelario, o de la barra de abogados. Los otros fueron voluntarios de la C C de Malasia, miembros del consejo y otros simpatizantes.

1 и 2-го июня АТС Малайзии проводила симпозиум по восстановительному правосудию, на котором присутствовали от 70 до 80 человек. Примерно половина из числа присутствующих были представителями тюремного служения либо ассоциации адвокатов. Другие присутствующие были из числа волонтёров АТС Малайзии, членов Правления либо представители других групп поддержки.

Ayudando a las Iglesias a aprender acerca de la Justicia Restaurativa

A principios de septiembre, la C. C. de Australia, (Australia Meridional) envió por correo notas para sermones acerca de la justicia restaurativa a 140 de las iglesias que la ayudan. Las notas, escritas por el capellán coordinador Bill Redding, estaban destinadas para motivar a las iglesias a que se prepararan para la Semana de la Justicia Restaurativa que se llevará al cabo durante la última semana completa de noviembre.

Prison Chaplains Reach Inmates by the Thousands With the Gospel

From the PF Rwanda website: December 16 was a day of great celebration and sharing for Prison Fellowship Rwanda. All 15 prison chaplains, each dedicated to bringing programs for transformation and growth to prisons within a certain administrative sector in Rwanda, met together at the PFR office. The chaplains celebrated the Christmas season, shared stories, exchanged ideas, reflected on successes, and discussed their respective programs in detail. Each chaplain spoke at length about his or her experiences over the past several months.

PF Rwanda's Restorative Justice Workshops

This month [September], Prison Fellowship Rwanda (PFR) conducted its fifth ‘Restorative Justice’ three-day training workshop, this time in Juru Sector, Bugasera District, Eastern Province. The class was made up of 15 participants, half of which were genocide victims, half ex-offenders and a handful of local authority members. The aim of the class was to promote continuing unity and reconciliation, and sustainable peaceful cohabitation within the community. By training participants to become peace activists, PFR hoped that they would continue to mobilise others in their respective communities in the prevention and resolution of any conflict that might arise.

Promoting Restorative Justice in Panama

Although the authority to use mediation in certain crimes first appeared in Panamanian regulations in 1995, this option has been underutilised by justice system personnel. Subsequent legislation and policies developed by the Ministerio Público have sought to strengthen mediation, including by creating alternative dispute resolution centres in different parts of the country.

В начале сентябряАТС Австралии (Южная Австралия) разослала конспект проповеди о восстановительном правосудии в 140 церквей, оказывающих поддержку Служению. Целью конспекта, составленного капелланом-координатором Биллом Реддином, было побудить данные церкви подготовиться к Международной неделе восстановительного правосудия, которая проводится на протяжении 7 дней в третью неделю ноября.

Twenty years of faith based work in Estonian Prisons.

As a result of all your work, a cooperation network of organisations dealing with various fields of activities has been founded in Estonia. A Center of Social Rehabilitation in Tallinn, the Society of Victims’ Aid, the Social Centre for children at risk in Peeteli Church (Tallinn) the Tartu Christian Home, the Foundation of Social Rehabilitation Development SORES and finally the Baltic Institute for Crime Prevention and Social Rehabilitation. And I would not be surprised if you would have founded a new organization yesterday, for example the International Network of Christians and Criminology. If this is not the case, my suggestion to you is to keep the idea in mind. (excerpt)

PF Rwanda continues to lead restorative justice and reconciliation trainings in rural Rwanda

Felix Bigabo, PFR’s Program Director, and PFR prison chaplains continue to venture into rural areas throughout Rwanda to carry out discussions and guided training programs on reconciliation and restorative justice. The programs reach inhabitants of remote rural areas who otherwise might not be reached with this message.

Maelanga says gov’t supports healing process

From the article in the Solomon Star: DEPUTY Prime Minister Manasseh Maelanga has reiterated that the government is committed to heal the nation through forgiveness and reconciliation. But he said true forgiveness and reconciliation must come from a heart of a person and that is when that person receives Christ in his or her heart.
