In the Pacific, PF national organisations approach justice reform through implementing in-prison restorative justice programmes, lobby the government and raising public awareness about justice issues and providing for the reintegration needs of ex-offenders.

Restorative Justice
Prison Fellowship national organisations see the restorative justice
paradigm as a way of improving the justice systems in their countries
by serving victims, offenders and the community.
Communities of Restoration
PF national organisations are working with their governments to develop
holistic in-prison programming that includes religious education, life
skills training, and vocational training.
Sycamore Tree Project®
Recognizing the needs of crime victims for healing and the need of
offenders to take responsibility for their behaviour PF national
organisations are implementing the Sycamore Tree Project®. This
in-prison restorative justice project brings together unrelated victims
and offenders to discuss the impact of crime.
Aftercare
From their work in prison, PF national organisation volunteers see the
many challenges ex-prisoners encounter upon release. To meet these
needs they are developing programmes such as pre-release mentoring and
preparation programmes and non-residential post-release assistance and
mentoring programmes.
Advocating for Reform
Justice reform does not happen in a vacuum and many partners are needed
in the work. For this reason, PF national organisations in Pacific
sponsor justice reform seminars and training sessions on a variety of
topics including restorative justice, human rights and best practices
in prison. They are also responding to government proposals for new
legislation and policy as well as running public awareness campaigns
through different media outlets.
