What is restorative justice?
Restorative justice is a theory of justice that emphasizes repairing the harm caused by criminal behaviour. It is best accomplished through cooperative processes that include all stakeholders. The Centre for Justice and Reconciliation is the criminal justice reform arm of PFI. Its purpose is to expand the use of restorative justice around the world. It does this by providing assistance to national PF organisations and supporting their efforts by offering restorative justice expertise to governments, intergovernmental organisations, NGOs, and the broader restorative justice movement.
Programmes of the Centre include:
- Communities of Restoration (APAC)
- Sycamore Tree Project®
- Umuvumu Tree Project
- Restorative Justice Online
- RJ City®
