35 Years of Helping Prisoners

More than fifteen Prison Fellowship organisations around the world are operating faith-based prison units that offer invaluable spiritual and moral training to inmates.

Although they have different names and reflect the cultures and traditions of the respective country, they are all modelled after the APAC (Association for the Protection and Assistance to the Convicted) programme that was developed in Brazil and now celebrates its 35th year of operation. The original programme has been through many challenges throughout the years, but continues to be strong and effective in helping prisoners turn their lives around through character-focused, biblically-based teachings.

Congratulating PF Brazil on APAC’s 35-year anniversary, Tim Khoo, PFI Executive Vice President, said, “This is a significant milestone that celebrates the amazing journey that APAC has taken from a city in Brazil and now to the world.”
