Restorative Justice Training for Corrections Personnel

Recently, PF Lesotho sponsored a two-week training event on restorative justice for members of the Lesotho Correctional Service (LCS). Thirty-five participants including prison chaplains and correctional rehabilitation officers participated in the event held at the Lesotho Training Centre.
Presenters from PF Lesotho and the Training and Development Institute addressed:
- Community Forum and Human Rights in Restorative Justice
- Conflict Resolution and Management
- Effective Communication in Restorative Justice
- Gender and Children issues in Restorative Justice
- Spiritual Foundations of Restorative Justice
Many of the participants expressed their appreciation of the restorative justice workshop with one quoted as saying, “I have attended many workshops, but have never enjoyed a workshop like this one.” Currently, PF Lesotho is collaborating with the LCS to follow-up with workshop participants.
