Giving FAQ
Is my credit card information secure?
PFI is committed to ensuring the security of your personal information. To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the proper use of information, we have a relationship with an established merchant services provider to implemente appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure personal information.
Is my donation tax-deductible?
Yes. PFI is a non-profit organization pursuant to Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Our federal taxpayer ID number is 51-0247185.
Can I donate in currency other than US dollars?
We encourage foreign payments be made with credit cards, and the US dollar donation amount will be withdrawn to reflect the corresponding amount in the foreign currency.
Will I receive a receipt?
Yes. For contributions sent by mail, you will receive a paper receipt. For contributions made through www.pfi.org, receipts are sent electronically.
Can I support a specific area of the world or a specific programme?
Every month PFI highlights several specific programmes around the world. Whether your interest is helping the children who live in prison, promoting human dignity in prisons, or encouraging reconciliation between victims and offenders, you may select the programme that is most meaningful to you. You may also direct your gift to a specific country by making a selection on our Partner with a National Affiliate when making your donation. If making a donation by mail, please mark your preferences on the memo line of your check or include a note.
How can I help raise money for PFI?
Large and small donations make a difference in the lives of the prisoners, victims, and their families we serve around the world. If you would like to organize a bake sale, a car wash, or any other fundraiser, please contact mtelford@pfi.org.
