Making Amends
After PF Zimbabwe introduced Victor to God, he decided to admit that he stole a motorcycle from his boss and make amends by returning it.
When Victor Garapo began his three-year sentence for stealing a motorcycle from his former employer, he maintained his innocence. While in prison, he met PF Zimbabwe representatives who shared the Bible with him. Eventually he converted to Christianity and like the apostle Paul, proclaimed that he was a “new creation.” Once released, he contacted PF Zimbabwe and admitted to stealing the motorcycle but said he now wanted to give it back. PF Zimbabwe Executive Director Peter Mandianike and a volunteer PF counsellor accompanied Victor to return the motorcycle to its owner, who gratefully accepted it. It is a “true victim/offender reconciliation story!” proclaims Peter.
