Introduction and Recent News

Prison Fellowship Papua New Guinea was chartered in 1983 as an organization dedicated to spreading the gospel to inmates, their families, and prison staff. A dedicated staff and over 600 volunteers make Angel Tree, educational resources, children and youth activities, mentoring, and material assistance for prisoners and ex-prisoners possible. Prison Fellowship is also pleased to help prisoners build positive personal connections with their community through outreach activities in which prisoners participate in church services and other events outside of the prison. Since it’s establishment, PF Papua New Guinea has spread to 11 of the country's 20 prisons.

Helping Prisoners and Communities Reconcile

In late 2007, PF Papua New Guinea (PFPNG) worked with the government’s Community Justice Liaison Unit (CJLU) to organise and support prisoners from Bomana prison through a reconciliation event in their home village.
