The world’s largest and most extensive criminal justice ministry, Prison Fellowship International (PFI) is a global association of over 100 national Prison Fellowship organisations.

PFI is active in every region of the world with a network of more than 100,000 volunteers worldwide working for the spiritual, moral, social and physical well-being of prisoners, ex-prisoners, their families and victims of crime.

These national Prison Fellowship organisations are indigenous, volunteer-based and trans-denominational.  As a non-governmental organization (NGO), PFI maintains "special consultative status" with the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC ) and is an active participant in the UN Alliance of NGOs on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice.  PFI also works with national governments to bring aid to needy prisoners.  Recently, PFI partnered with the Swiss government to distribute millions of dollars worth of medical goods and supplies to prisoners around the world.

PFI provides its affiliates with:

  • leadership training
  • programme development and consultation
  • organisational consultation
  • communication and marketing materials
  • international representation
  • networking opportunities
