DEVELOP NATIONAL PF ORGANISATIONS - For a listing of PF National organisations around the world visit Prison Fellowship Worldwide.
- TRAIN NATIONAL LEADERS - PFI provides extensive training and development opportunities for the leaders of national PF organisations through PFI’s Institute for Leadership Formation.
- REACH OUT TO PRISONERS - PF national organisations work with prison chaplains and local churches to care for prisoners’ physical, spiritual, and emotional needs.
- ENCOURAGE FAITH-BASED PRISONS - Many prison environments embody a culture of drug abuse, violence, and criminality that prevents prisoners from changing and growing. Faith-based prisons, however, promote lasting rehabilitation. Based on the Brazilian model know as APAC, national PF organisations are adapting their own faith-based prisons or “Communities of Restoration.”
- SUPPORT EX-PRISONERS - PF helps ex-prisoners receive the re-entry support they desperately need by connecting them with supportive groups and churches on the outside. Job training, micro-lending programmes, residential care and other assistance from PF helps recently released inmates become productive and responsible members of their communities.
- ASSIST CHILDREN AND FAMILIES OF PRISONERS - All over the world, thousands of children are incarcerated with their parent because there is no one else to care for them, or they are abandoned to the streets. Either way, there is no food apportioned for them, so they must scavenge for whatever meager handouts they can find, all the while in constant danger of becoming victims of exploitation and violence. This is why the majority of Prison Fellowship ministries have programs that serve and support the children of prisoners. In addition to Angel Tree®, which helps bring attention to the needs of such children, other PF programs include family visitations, children and youth camps, drug and crime prevention programs and special residential homes where young children can be cared for while their parents serve out their time in prison.
- RECONCILE VICTIMS AND OFFENDERS - PFI's Sycamore Tree Project® brings groups of victims and offenders together in a journey towards repentance, forgiveness, and reconciliation.
- PROMOTE RESTORATIVE JUSTICE - Through the PFI Centre for Justice and Reconciliation, PFI promotes the principles and practices of Restorative Justice—an approach to justice focusing on healing broken relationships, repairing the damage done by crime, and restoring the offender to a meaningful role in society.
