Global Assistance Programme

by james — last modified 2008-02-02 01:32

In many prisons around the world, extreme overcrowding, poor ventilation, food shortages and substandard sanitation conditions lead to the rapid spread of serious and chronic diseases among prisoners.  The limited resources of some developing nations often results in inadequate or non-existent medical care for prisoners.  PFI’s Global Assistance Program mobilizes teams of volunteer doctors and nurses to conduct short term medical assistance in these prisons.  Since 1995, over 600 medical professionals and support volunteers have brought relief and hope to more than 95,000 prisoners and prison communities through PFI’s Global Assistance Program.  PFI has also partnered with the Swiss Army to provide medical equipment and supplies to prisons in developing countries around the world.

Current Global Assistance Projects:

  • PF Liberia:  1-15 March 2008
  • PF Nigeria:  7-21 June 2008

You can be part of this life-changing service to needy prisoners.
